Today while most of us were staring at computer screens, or digging holes, Jack Freestone was busy getting pitted out of his mind and throwing down tweaked air reverses to win the Oakley World Junior in Bali and finally, Australia, we have a World Junior Champ… Well sort of. You see people, this year, if you didn’t already know, is a series. Yep that’s right, a series. So now Jack is in an early lead and our good ol’ sunburnt country is looking good to hoist someone onto our shoulders since Parko won 9 years ago.
He didn’t have an easy run to the win either. Actually, it was the complete opposite. He single handily took down Americas two “next big things” Kolohe Andino and Nat Young, Brazil’s aerial wiz Carlo Ibelli and South African Dale Staples. The Aussie underdog is back, so bow down and suck on a big fat VB longy for him. PEACE OUT!
Oh yeah and Culburra Beach via Lennox Head phenom Tyler Wright also took out the chicks. AUSTRALIA IS BACK! Booooyah. X
